Hello Knox submitted by Hailey

My name is Hailey and I am a professional chef and baker. I wanted to reach out to HelloKnox and share a bit about myself, my baking blog and my Fudgy Walnut Brownie recipe. My blog is a place where I am working on creating and sharing recipes for delicious things like Earl Grey Crème Brule and Mini Lemon Cheesecake among many other tasty things.

Now, before I get into the basics of the brownie recipe, I thought I would take the time to talk more about myself and my baking journey. I started baking at the ripe old age of 3, I had to stand on a stool so I could see above the counter, and the only thing that I was really able to do was stir the batter and taste test. From then on, I enjoyed anything and everything to do with food; in elementary school, half of the books I borrowed from the library were cookbooks, and when we had a class in the computer lab, I would spend the entire time searching up recipes and printing them, even though I never made any of them LOL (This actually got me in trouble all the time because the teacher thought it was a waste of paper) As I got older, I was finally allowed to bake and cook by myself in the kitchen, as long as I cleaned up when I was done. I took advantage of this by finding any way to practice recipes, I made breakfast in bed for my family, various desserts for family gatherings, and always offered to make something for somebody's birthday or holidays.

Eventually, when I was nearing the end of high school, I had to decide what I wanted to do with my future, and lucky for me, the school district offered a trades training program that would not only benefit me with credits towards graduation but also with a level 1 certification if I completed it. It was hard deciding between cooking or baking program, but my mom convinced me to start off with cooking.

To read more about how I ended up creating a baking blog and presenting you with a brownie recipe feel free to check out my blog Beyond Baking.

As for the brownie recipe, it’s also on my blog along with some great tips on how to get that perfect crackly top or how to get an extra fudgy flavor but I have shared the basic recipe here as a PDF for you to print at home.
