2019 Salish Sea Early Music Festival at Knox
Period Instrument chamber music from six centuries in Vancouver and around the Salish Sea
The February 20th concert features:
Early 19th-century trios performed on instruments made during this time with guitarist Oleg Timofever, violist Steven Creswell and flutist Jeffrey Cohan for an unusual ensemble that existed only during the early decades of the 19th century by Leonardo de Call, Gaspard Kummer and Joseph Küffner on instruments from Beethoven’s time.
Intimate settings often yield the most transformative experiences: two or three musicians can respond to one another with a degree of subtlety and agility that is just not possible in a larger group. The result can be a depth of feeling that we associate with much larger works.
Please join us for this intimate exploration of a delightful variety of uplifting sentiments and stylistic trends across 18th-century Europe.
The program including Bios are in the attached downloadable PDF.
Suggested Donation: $15, $20 or $25 ( everyone welcome) 18 and under FREE
